Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), is an Autonomous Society set up by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology(MeitY), Government of India in 1991, with the objective of encouraging, promoting, and boosting Software Exports from India.

STPI headquarters is located in New Delhi with 63 Centres spread across the country. STPI Bhilai established in 2002 for promoting IT/ITES exports from the region. As a result, many IT and ITES companies have been grown and contributing their export from the state of Chhattisgarh.

The advantage for IT/ITES companies in Chhattisgarh (C.G.) :

Geographical Location: Chhattishgarh is located in the Central part of India and well connected with all the states. This is a Hindi speaking state and official language also in Hindi.

Railway: Durg railway station is only 5 km from STPI, Bhilai, and Central Railway Raipur junction is 34 KM from Bhilai. All the developed districts of Chhattishgarh i.e. Durg, Raipur, Bilaspur, Rajnandgaon, etc. well connected by railway and state Road transport.

Airport: Swami Vivekananda Airport, Mana located in the Capital (Raipur) which is 55 KM from Bhilai.

Electricity Power : Chhattisgarh State is a power surplus state with a current generating capacity of 21000 MW which is targeted to increase to 41000 MW by the end of the 12th Five Year Plan. The State Electrical Tariff is 35% cheaper than all India average. The availability of uninterrupted quality power supply at a very competitive rate will reduce the operational cost for Electronics Manufacturing Clusters and IT/ITeS industries thereby leading to cost-effective production.

Policy Support: STPI provides Single Window Clearance to IT/ITES exporters. State Government IT policy also very supportive of the industries.

Cost-Effective: The region offers a great competitive edge to the investors through low-cost infrastructure, real estate, and manpower.

Companies around: Bhilai Steel Plant, a major unit of Steel Authority of India is located in Bhilai. C.G have large no of power, Steel and Cement industries.
