STPI–Jammu was setup in the year 2004 with a built-up floor area of 7371sqft with the joint contribution of central govt. and state Govt. under the MoU signed between JKSIDCO and STPI .
STPI Jammu is located in EPIP Kartholi , SIDCO industrial complex Bari Brahmana which is around 18 kms from the Jammu city .. Jammu due to its geographical location has the potential to transform from a C category city into a software business zone required by the Information Technology sector.
At present the city can claim to have a vast pool of skilled and semi-skilled IT professionals, both trained and currently receiving training.
This part of J&K is rich in cultural diversity with people from different regions settled in here .Also it is easily connected with rest of country via road, air and rail links which makes it more easier for people from different parts of country to reach here .Jammu is also known as the City of Temples.
